Nonbu Charadu, is a thin thread coated in golden yellow using the turmeric paste. Nonbu charadu is a single thread that is temporarily worn around the neck by married women, who change their mangala sutram (thaali) during Karadiyar Nonbu or during Panguni uttram. Sometimes it is also offered as one of the 16 upacharas to the female deities who are invoked during pooja.
