The fifth volume of Udaiyar is focussed on the war between the Cholas and the Chalukyas. The author goes into great detail about how the Cholas plan their strategies and this makes the reader get absorbed into the story. For anyone who loves history and wants to know about the myriad of plans and thought processes involved in a war, this volume is an excellent read because it is mostly centred around that only.
