"Sundarakandam" is a part of the Indian epic Ramayana, authored by sage Valmiki. It focuses mainly on the journey of Hanuman to Lanka in search of Sita, the wife of Lord Rama, who had been abducted by the demon king Ravana. He eventually reaches Lanka, finds Sita in captivity, delivers Lord Rama's message to her, and reassures her of Lord Rama's imminent rescue.The Sundarakandam is often recited as a separate hymn or section for auspicious occasions.
