Introducing our Smartha Yajur Upakarma Grihasta set, containing:

- a sheet explaining each part of the upakarma/avani avittam ritual according to Yajur Veda (Smarta)

At a young age, brahmin boys are initiated as Brahmhacharis through a ceremony known as Upanayanam, where they are first given the yagnopavita/poonal. This begins their journey of learning and practicing the vedas and acquiring wisdom and knowledge. After this ceremony, the sacred thread is changed every year in the Upakarma or Avani Avittam ritual, or in some traditions, every month. The upakarma ritual is slightly different for Brahmacharis and Grihastas, This set contains all of the necessary items for performing this ceremony for Grihastas, according to the Smarta tradition within Yajur Veda.
