Sri Devi Mahatmyam

Sri Devi Mahatmyam, is one of the important texts that is prescribed to Sadhakas who follow the path for attaining the feet of Sri Devi (the Universal Mother). The slokas forms part of the Centre of Markandeya Purana. The entire collection of slokas describes the protectives steps Sri Devi Matha has taken to protect the universe from the evil forces. This upa-purana is broadly classified into three, Pradhama saritam, Maddhima saritam and Utthama saritham, with anubandam giving away slokas, worshipping methods. The poorva bhaga gives the methods of cleansing oneself before commencement of the parayanam. Usually recited during Navaratri days, reciting the verses one gets liberated to moves to the path of eternal bliss. A book that shall be available in every household.
