Bringing you our Srivaishnava Yagnopavita (punal). This is a sacred thread worn by Hindu Brahmins following the SriVaishnava Tradition. As youth, young brahmin boys are initiated as ‘brahmacharis’, in a ceremony called the ‘Upanayanam’. After the upanayanam, brahmins change their punal, or Yagnopavita, in an annual festival called ‘Avani Avittam’. The punal is made up of three threads, with immense spiritual power concentrated in the knot that ties them together. This pack contains 4 sets of 4 punals, ensuring enough to last multiple ceremonies.
