A traditional Amman Pavadai (skirt) to adorn beautiful Devi idols.
Pavadai or skirt is a traditional piece of South Indian attire, usually worn by young women before marriage. The Amman Pavadai is a miniature version of this traditional outfit, designed to dress idols of the Mother Goddess. During pooja, devotees perform a ritual called Abhishekam. This involves bathing the idol in milk, yoghurt, chandan (sandalwood paste), and other sacred items, before rinsing with water. The idol is then dried with a towel, and dressed up in a Paavadai, Saree, or Panchakacham, depending on the deity the idol represents, as well as the size.
This Amman Pavadai, with an attractive design and colours, is an ideal accessory for your smaller Devi idols.
