Sriman Narayaneeyam is sung in praise of Sri Guruvayoorappan (Sri Krishna) the presiding deity worshipped in Guruvayoor, Kerala. The original script in sanskrit language has 1036 slokas. Mostly the slokas goes in line with the verses of Srimad Bhagavatam, Sri Narayaneeyam was the creative work of Sri Melpattur Narayana Namboothiri, an ardent devotee of Sri Narayana. These hymns were sung by him to overcome the ailment and the pain on his body. This transliteration is a concise form made in Telugu script for those who can recite the verses only through Telugu.
